Twenty-six-year-old Amber Neal was charged this month with six felony counts in relation to the alleged kidnapping of two Los Angeles actors. Authorities allege that Neal, alongside Keith Andre Stewart and Johntae Jones, kidnapped actor Joseph Capone and Halloween: Resurrection actress Daisy McCrackin on May 3, 2017.
Darren Richie, the lead defense attorney in Ms. Neal’s defense, states that “The allegations against my client are unfounded and unsupportable. The media is portraying just a sliver of the entire story, and the fact that Ms. Neal now faces a life sentence in prison flies in the face of reason, justice, and the simple truth.
As the facts and circumstances of this matter come to light, it will be exceedingly clear that the allegations against Ms. Neal are shockingly devoid of any merit or truth. Indeed, to understand the baseless and unlawful nature of the allegations, one need only read the Los Angeles Times article from Saturday, July 21, 2018, entitled Authorities recorded privileged attorney-client conversations, district attorney’s office says, wherein the district attorney has admitted in this case to have unlawfully recorded attorney-client privileged communications.
This outrageous violation of Ms. Neal’s rights under California law is but only one example of the woefully inadequate, incompetent, and illegal investigation of Ms. Neal in this matter. Needless to say, Ms. Neal is not guilty of these charges and she looks forward to proving her innocence before the jury of her peers when this case goes to trial.”
